After years of offering front light installations, we have finally made a do-it-yourself front light kit for your portable consoles. Similar to the internal lighting used in the GBA SP and the Afterburner Kit, the front light installation kit includes everything needed to install a front light.

Kit Contents:

Light Guide panel
Set of black and blue wires
Resistor
Contrast dial
On/Off switch

The front light panel used is not quite as high quality as the GBA SP, but does the job well of illuminating the screen for night-time game play and eliminating the need for an external lighting source. The size of the front light panel is 6.5 cm x 4.5 cm, so it is compatible with most handheld systems. The kit has been tested on GameBoy original, GBC, GBA, Neo Geo Pocket Color, WonderSwan Color and SwanCrystal consoles. The difficulty of installation depends on your system, but detailed guides are available for the systems below.
